What is a pad?

Pad jobs typically refer to positions related to the oil and gas industry, specifically those working on or around drilling pads. A pad is a cleared area of land where drilling rigs and related equipment are set up to extract oil or gas. Pad workers may be responsible for site preparation, equipment maintenance, safety monitoring, or supporting drilling and completion operations. These roles require adherence to strict safety protocols and often involve long shifts in remote or outdoor environments. Experience in construction, heavy machinery operation, or energy production can be beneficial for securing a pad job.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a PAD (Physician Assistant Doctor), and why are they important?
