WCS Healthcare is partnering with a leading ambulatory surgery center to hire an experienced Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse for a temporary maternity leave coverage assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for an RN with outpatient surgery, pre-operative, and post-anesthesia recovery experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Pre-Operative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) settings.
  • Perform patient assessments and monitor patient status before and after surgical procedures.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions.
  • Monitor patients for post-anesthesia complications and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility standards.
Clinical Experience Required

Qualified candidates must have experience caring for both adult and pediatric patients and be comfortable supporting procedures including:

  • Hip procedures
  • Shoulder procedures
  • Pain management procedures
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of one year of Pre-Operative and/or PACU nursing experience.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • ACLS required.
  • PALS certification required within 90 days of hire, or current PALS certification at the time of hire.
  • Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience.
  • Experience with orthopedic and pain management procedures.
  • Pediatric recovery experience.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment.
