Job description

Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is now hiring Full-time Material Handlers for an automotive Tier 1 supplier in Livonia. This position is a great opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in automotive manufacturing, warehouse operations, inventory control, and material handling.
The Material Handler will be responsible for transporting materials throughout the warehouse and shop areas, managing inventory, operating a power industrial truck (PIT), and ensuring production teams have the correct materials needed to complete customer orders. Material Handlers will support inventory accuracy through cycle counting, picking, packing, kitting, and maintaining organized warehouse operations. This position offers an AM day shift with overtime opportunities when needed.
Shift Schedule:
  • AM day shift: 6:00 AM โ€“ 2:30 PM (Monday โ€“ Friday, overtime when needed)

Responsibilities:
  • Transport products throughout the warehouse and shop using a power industrial truck (PIT)
  • Load and unload delivery trucks, pallets, racks, and shelves
  • Manage inventory levels and maintain inventory accuracy
  • Perform cycle counting and inventory verification
  • Pick, pack, and prepare materials for production and customer orders
  • Build and supply material kits for the production floor
  • Record received products and place materials in the proper storage locations
  • Identify, inspect, and track incoming and outgoing parts for quality, quantity, and accuracy
  • Utilize ERP systems and inventory management tools
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using computer systems, including PeopleSoft when applicable
  • Support warehouse organization and maintain a clean work environment
  • Install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent product shifting or damage during transportation
  • Remove packing materials and dunnage as needed
  • Follow work instructions and support team members with project work and customer requirements

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory systems
  • Ability to read, count, and communicate inventory data both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime when needed
  • Ability to obtain or qualify for an industrial truck license
  • Ability to follow directions and learn new skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • ERP experience
  • PeopleSoft experience
  • Warehouse experience
  • Inventory control experience
  • Experience with cycle counting, kitting, picking, and packing
  • Experience working in manufacturing and/or automotive materials
  • Valid Driverโ€™s License
