SUMMARYThe Packing Technician – Entry Level position supports production and shipping operations by packaging completed products and preparing materials for delivery to the Shipping Department. This is an entry-level manufacturing role and no prior experience or specialized skills are required. Training will be provided
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring completed products are properly packed with the correct documentation and prepared for shipment according to company standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following is a framework of the essential duties and responsibilities for this role. Basic duties are outlined here and are not limited to this outline. Duties and responsibilities may change according to business need and other duties may be assigned.

  • Pack completed products with associated paperwork into appropriate packaging materials and inner packs
  • Verify packaged items and documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Transport packed items to the Shipping Department
  • Complete M1 transactions and maintain accurate production records
  • Follow company packaging procedures and work instructions
  • Maintain organization of materials and workstations
  • Handle products carefully to prevent damage during packaging and transport
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
  • Must be able to work a consistent schedule
QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or production experience is a plus, but not required

  • Basic communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic computer skills preferred


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Required Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, computer data, and procedure manuals. The ability to speak effectively, and clearly so others can understand you, before individuals or groups.


SOCIAL SKILLS: Ability to continually interact with others as a contributing member of a close-knit team. Ability to work closely together with others, possibly of different backgrounds and interests, without friction. Works well with people. Able to maintain strict confidentiality.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Aptitude to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s, performing these operations using units of time, pressure, temperature, weigh measurement, volume and distance. Ability to calculate figures and amounts.


REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Basic computer skills required, including the ability to navigate production systems, enter data, and use standard workplace software as needed.


GENERAL: Self-starter, able to work independently, able to work under pressure, comfortable with interacting with multiple levels of organization, able to work cross-functionally within organization to accomplish objectives, results oriented.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle products, packaging materials, and paperwork. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Repetitive hand movements and frequent movement throughout the production area may be required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position works in a production and manufacturing environment where employees may be exposed to noise, machinery, and standard manufacturing materials. Appropriate safety equipment and training will be provided.
