For over 50 years, ADSI Moving Systems, a subsidiary of Ellefson Transportation Group, Inc., has specialized in local and long distance relocation services for residential and commercial moves. JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

Preferred: High School Diploma

LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION

Required: Valid Driverโ€™s License

Required: Over 21 Years Old

EXPERIENCE

Required: One (1) year or more working experience.

Preferred: Ability to calculate list of numbers, logically work through problems, work independently, legibly record lists of materials and make appropriate decisions. Experience in the household goods moving and storage.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

BODY POSITIONS:ย While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, operate forklifts and scissor lifts and load/unload trucks for prolonged periods of time.

BODY MOVEMENTS:ย The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, computer equipment and peripherals; and bending, reaching, and crouching.

BODY SENSES:ย Must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to shift in focus from computer screens to printed documents.

STRENGTH:ย Must have the ability to lift seventy five (75) pounds with regularity.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Packer reports to, and is accountable to either the Dispatcher or Assistant Dispatcher and the Chief Operations Officer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Packer is selected and appointed by the Dispatcher after consultation with the Chief Operations Officer. He/She will be delegated the authority required to successfully accomplish all of the duties and responsibilities of this position.

  • Authority to organize and coordinate work assignments. Analyzes problems and recommend corrective actions to the proper level of management to improve quality, productivity, safety and housekeeping.
  • Adheres to the Companyโ€™s safety policies.
  • Maintains a safe working environment.
  • Provides superior customer service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Making it understood that THE CUSTOMER IS OUR FIRST PRIORITY and that each employee is here to support that priority.

  • Ensures that his/her work assignments have been properly packed per standard company procedures.
  • Ensures that they have all working materials and paperwork prior to departing for the job site.
  • Dresses in an approved uniform and appropriate manner as specified in the employee manual. Is presentable at all times.
  • Directs all customer questions to the Crew Leader.
  • Arrive at customerโ€™s residence at scheduled time.
  • Ensures that packing is completed on time, is flexible, understands that workloads change from time to time and complies with the customerโ€™s concerns.
  • Follows instructions of Crew Leader.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and works well with the customer, Crew Leader and management.
  • Assist Crew Leader in ensuring that the customer residence is secure and clean.
  • Reloads packing trucks at the end of each day.
  • Ensures that the packing materials warehouse is stocked and cleaned daily.
  • Team Player. Works well with others.
  • Must be flexible and understand that sometimes changes will be made by the customer to the schedule.
  • Understands that in this role he/she is visible to the public and is viewed as a representative of the company and therefore must act accordingly by wearing a proper, clean and neat uniform, maintaining good personal grooming standards and conducting him/herself in a professional manner.
  • Brings lunch to job site and understands he/she may have to eat at the job site because they will not be able to leave the job site until the job is completed for that day.
  • In case of accident or injury follows proper procedures.
  • Creating and maintaining a work environment that shows concern for the other personnel assigned to the area.
  • Making it understood that THE CUSTOMER IS OUR FIRST PRIORITY and that each employee is here to support that priority.
  • Assist in attaining the goals and objectivities of the Company.
  • Other duties and task as assigned by the Dispatcher and Assistant Dispatcher, Chief Operations Officer or Chief Executive Officer.

MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE

The Packer shall be deemed to be performing in an acceptable manner when the following have been accomplished:

  • That the all work assignments have been operated in a safe, clean and productive manner.
  • That he/she has been properly trained all packing, safety and customer service procedures.
  • Follows the instructions/requests of the ADSI Dispatcher, Assistant Dispatcher and Crew Leader.
  • Meets and/or exceeds company attendance requirements.
  • Meets and/or exceed the Companyโ€™s goals and objectives in quality and productivity.
  • Works to insure that all pick ups and deliveries meet or exceed established deadlines.
  • Maintains an outstanding degree of cooperation, communication and coordination with and between all departments and companies at the facility.
  • Constantly Striving For Total Customer Satisfaction.
  • All Company Policies and Procedures have been adhered too.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position will be working primarily indoors with some outdoors work required from time to time. The normal auto travel hazards may apply. Travel may be in all types of weather including heavy rain and below freezing temperatures with snow conditions possible.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can be higher at times.
