Job description

Band double-stacked items together and ensure all products are secured properly to prevent shifting or damage during transport. Safely operate forklifts to move and stage product, maintaining a valid forklift certification and following all applicable safety protocols at all times. Stage skids in the correct sequence according to the daily load plan so that trucks can be loaded accurately, efficiently, and in the proper order. Stack out skids and consolidate tops to keep product organized, minimize wasted space, and ensure orders are ready for shipment. Audit accessory boxes to verify that contents are accurate and complete before orders are released for shipment. Ensure that all HC skids are properly wrapped to protect product from damage and moisture during transit. Ensure that packing slips are correctly placed on all orders prior to shipment to support accurate order fulfillment. Assist loaders with loading trucks in a safe, timely, and organized manner to help maintain on-time shipping schedules. Assist top sorters and support other areas within the shipping department as needed to keep overall workflow moving smoothly. Cut 2x2 lumber to the required lengths for use as build-up materials in the shipping process. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times in accordance with 5S standards. Follow all established safety procedures and operate a forklift when certified to do so. Keep product flow moving efficiently and provide support to teammates across the department as workload demands. Participate in daily production meetings to stay informed of shipping priorities, schedule changes, and any operational concerns. Maintain regular attendance and be available to work 6:00am-4:30 pm, five days per week, including occasional mandatory overtime as business needs require. Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses and hearing protection, in accordance with company policy. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must be able to lift and move products up to 50 lbs. Ability to work Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM Ability to read and understand packaging, shipping documents, and safety guidelines Ability to work independently and as part of a team Previous warehouse experience 1โ€“3 years of forklift experience Valid driverโ€™s license Forklift or heavy machinery certification Models VTโ€™s Mission, Vision, and Values All team members are expected to follow the Code of Conduct to the highest standards as well as to adhere to the Attendance Policy of VT Industries.
