Finished Goods/Packer


SUMMARY: The Finished Goods Associate is responsible for the completion of the activities of stocking, organizing and inventory of all finished goods.

Position Summary:
Packers are responsible for packing and boxing beef, pork, lamb, veal, and seafood products accurately with good appearance, as well as meeting customer specifications.

Essential Functions:
  • Packs products in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Follows company standardized pack specifications along with any customer specified deviations as communicated through special instructions via work orders/cut tickets.
  • Accurately reads and comprehends all customer specific special instructions.
  • Performs Quality Control checks and communicates with supervisors and manager any defects.
  • Inspects meat/ products for defects, bruises or blemishes.
  • Obtains and distribute products to appropriate pack lines.
  • Weighs meats and tag containers for weight and contents.
  • Reduces processing costs by reducing the amount of repacks or empty pockets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
    • Must have ability to read, write and communicate in English.
    • Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.
    • Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
    • Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
    • Must have working knowledge of production equipment.
    • Must be able to understand and follow all Food Safety Guidelines and Occupational Safety Guidelines .
