About the Job
Dal-Tile is currently seeking an expert Material Handler to join our TEAM! As a veteran Material Handler, we need someone that is ready to operate all equipment utilized in the distribution center such as the Reach Truck, Cherry Picker, Sit-Down Forklift and Electric Pallet Jack.
Shift : 1st Shift
  • Monday - Friday
  • 8:00AM-4:45PM
Pay Rate:
  • Entry Rate: $22.95
  • 3 Month Rate: $24.80
Primary Objective
  • Operates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and conveys orders to packing station or shipping area.
Major Function and Scope
  • Operates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and conveys orders to packing station or shipping area.
  • Operates order picker equipment or stand-up forklift to assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets.
  • Utilizes warehouse systems such as Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Verifies stock availability and audits orders for accuracy.
  • Conveys picked orders to packing station or shipping area.
  • Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor.
  • Follows standard operating and safety procedures.
  • Keeps area safe, clean and organized.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Experience and Knowledge Required
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience; Certified Sit-Down Forklift Operator.
  • 3 or more years previous distribution/warehouse experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months previous stand-up forklift or order picker equipment experience.
Competencies:
  • Good oral and written communications skills.
  • Good record keeping skills.

  • Accurate measurement capability.
  • Ability to understand and speak basic English.
  • Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner.
  • Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance.
  • The associate may lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • The aver number of picks per hour is 25 and the average weight is between 40-70 lbs with heavier picks (50-70 lbs) being 65% of the work shift and lighter weight items (20-40 lbs) being 35% of the work shift.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
  • The noise level is usually loud.
