Job Title: Pharmacy Floor Technician (Day Shift)

Pay Rate: $21/hr (Paid Weekly)
Location: 281 Shore Drive, Burr Ridge IL, 60527
Allmed Benefits: Dental, Vision, Health Insurance and 401(k)
Contract-to-Hire: 07/17/2026 to 01/12/2027
Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Every Other Weekend: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
  • Overtime and holidays may be required based on business needs

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Floor Technician to join a fast-paced pharmacy operations team. In this role, you will support the medication fulfillment process by accurately picking, labeling, scanning, and preparing prescription medications for final verification by a licensed pharmacist. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and committed to maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in a high-volume pharmacy environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately fill daily medication orders under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
  • Pick, label, scan, and prepare prescription medications for final pharmacist verification
  • Pull medications from shelving and other designated storage areas, including prepack racks
  • Apply labels to blister cards and scan products to ensure dispensing accuracy
  • Alert the pharmacist of any medications or products that do not scan correctly
  • Assist with processing returned medications, including proper recycling and disposal procedures
  • Prepack frequently ordered medications during low-volume periods
  • Package medications and pharmacy materials for distribution
  • Maintain clean, organized workstations and replenish inventory and packing supplies as needed
  • Follow all applicable federal, state, and company regulations, including HIPAA compliance
  • Adhere to departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code
  • Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Active and unrestricted Illinois Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Illinois Board of Pharmacy
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Pharmacy Technician experience
  • Experience working in a high-volume retail, specialty, long-term care, or mail-order pharmacy
  • Familiarity with pharmacy inventory and medication fulfillment processes environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and stoop throughout the workday
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods (7–10 hours per shift)
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks and operate pharmacy equipment
  • Visual acuity to read fine print, distinguish colors, and adjust focus
  • Ability to hear and communicate effectively in a pharmacy environment
