Warehouse Rigging Supervisor
Chesapeake, VA
Full- time, 7am-4pm
$27.00- $31.82/ hour
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor/Warehouse Rigging Supervisor with demonstrated expertise in industrial rigging operations to lead one of our warehousing teams. This position is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities, directing a team of associates, and serving as the on-site rigging authority for the movement, lifting, and placement of heavy equipment, oversized loads, and specialized cargo. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership capabilities with hands-on rigging proficiency and a relentless commitment to safety. In this role you and your team will be providing support to warehouse, distribution, transportation, packing and crating, and air freight services.

Beyond rigging, youโ€™ll have real supervisory ownership: building a high-performing crew, driving operational efficiency, and making decisions that matter every single shift.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position supervises warehouse and warehouse yard activities to include overseeing receiving and shipping as well as rigging and securing freight. Experience and knowledge of light industrial equipment operation, securing freight, and heavy operations duties as well as wood bracing fabrication and installation. This role provides support to warehouse, distribution, transportation, packing and crating, and air freight services.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • Required: prior experience with 30k/36k forklift operating
  • 1-2 years of prior supervisory or lead experience
  • Ability to use hand and power tools to effectively measure, cut, and install wood bracing
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods
  • Experience with Out of Gauge and operating an outdoor crane required
Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise all rigging lifts and verify load capacities prior to each lift
  • Train and evaluate warehouse associates on rigging fundamentals, hand signals, and load control techniques
  • Schedule and assign daily workloads, conduct safety briefings, enforce PPE requirements and investigate events and/or incidents
  • Operate forklifts to load and unload materials in outdoor environment when needed
  • Assist with measuring, cutting, and installing wood bracing to secure and protect cargo in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Assist with outdoor light industrial equipment operations, with occasional heavy operations support as directed.
  • Strong attention to safety and ability to follow site safety rules and procedures

  • Primarily outdoor environment (yard), exposed to weather conditions including heat, cold and precipitation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform moderate-to-heavy physical labor
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, and operating motorized equipment
  • Occasional indoor warehouse work
