Inspector/Packer II

Location: Mebane, NC
Pay Rate: $18.00โ€“$20.00 per hour
Work Setting: On-site
Available Shifts:

  • Day Shift: 7:45 a.m.โ€“8:00 p.m.

  • Night Shift: 7:45 p.m.โ€“8:00 a.m.

Position Summary

The Inspector/Packer II manually inspects completed plastic parts, packages finished products for shipment, prepares shipping labels, and stacks completed boxes on pallets. This position may also operate production equipment and assist with training Inspector/Packer I employees.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, good manual dexterity, and the ability to remain on their feet throughout a 12-hour shift while working safely in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Visually inspect finished plastic parts for defects, including discoloration, short shots, burns, contamination, sink marks, splay, delamination, and other quality concerns.

  • Record product, inspection, production, and performance information as required by management.

  • Transfer finished products from catch bins or containers into approved shipping boxes.

  • Weigh completed packages and prepare accurate shipping labels using SAP.

  • Seal boxes and transport finished products to the designated shipping area.

  • Stack completed boxes correctly and safely on pallets.

  • Prepare and supply new or reusable boxes to molding presses.

  • Sort and rework products that do not meet customer or quality requirements.

  • Properly document, identify, and label nonconforming products.

  • Perform sampling and gauging of rejected products when required.

  • Keep production and packing areas clean and organized.

  • Sweep floors, collect loose molded parts, clean production equipment, and address minor oil or water spills and leaks.

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with employees across all departments.

  • Complete all assigned training.

  • Perform all job duties safely and use required personal protective equipment.

  • Follow all applicable company policies and state and federal safety and environmental regulations.

  • Assist with training Inspector/Packer I employees as needed.

  • Operate production machinery when assigned.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Average or above-average math skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in an organized and logical manner.

  • Good color perception and manual dexterity.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Ability to safely lift up to 35 pounds.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to work safely and follow established procedures in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience using computers, email, SAP, and Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred.

Schedule Requirements

Candidates must be available to work an on-site 12-hour day or night shift. Multiple shifts may be available depending on business and training needs.


Pay Details: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour
