Job description

Our client is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Lead to oversee material receipt, storage, movement, packaging, inventory transactions, and outbound shipments in an aerospace manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily shipping and receiving operations
  • Train, mentor, and support department personnel
  • Verify incoming materials against purchase orders, packing slips, certifications, and customer requirements
  • Inspect shipments for damage, discrepancies, and documentation issues
  • Maintain material identification, traceability, and lot control
  • Prepare bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices, certificates of conformance, and export documentation
  • Coordinate parcel, LTL, and freight shipments
  • Maintain ERP and MRP inventory transactions
  • Support FIFO inventory controls
  • Coordinate material movement among receiving, inspection, stockroom, production, and shipping
  • Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies
  • Maintain shipping records and support hazardous-material compliance
  • Maintain warehouse organization using 5S principles
  • Assist with AS9100 and internal audits
  • Enforce workplace-safety procedures

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least five years of shipping and receiving experience in manufacturing
  • At least two years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • ERP or MRP experience
  • Strong understanding of freight procedures and shipping documentation
  • Inventory-control knowledge
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience
  • AS9100 experience
  • Associate degree
  • Forklift, HazMat, IATA, DOT, APICS, or ASCM certification
  • Lean or Six Sigma training

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate forklifts or pallet jacks
