Description:

Hudson Deep Draw (previously Hudson Technologies, aka Specialty Manufacturing Buyer) facility in Ormond Beach is looking for an upbeat rockstar to join our team!

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Operate single, double action, hydraulic or mechanical presses and other equipment necessary to perform a wide range of production operations such as draw, re-draw, trimming, sizing, flattening, piercing, ironing, etc.


ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Operates equipment and feeds parts/pieces, sheet or coil stock.
  • Receives first piece quality inspection approval prior to run.

Conforms to quality standards.

โ€ข Conducts required quality checks.

โ€ข Maintains quality standards.

โ€ข Notifies leader or quality assurance if quality standards are not met.

Records production information.

โ€ข Records quantity produced, scrap, materials used, and operations(s) completed utilizing the manufacturing operating system.

Observes all press operator safety rules and procedures.

โ€ข Performs initial and periodic checks (visual and manual) on die, punch, bolts, brackets, etc. to ensure the set-up

is secure and safe to run.

Report equipment or die problems to the die setter or leader immediately.

Works in other departments or areas on related operations as needed (repair, inspection/packing, modification, etc.)

Maintains workplace organization and housekeeping.

โ€ข Keeps work area, equipment, supplies, etc. in a neat and orderly condition.

โ€ข Disposes of scrap in proper containers.


Requirements:


Educational Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent.


Technical Experience: Previous press operator experience preferred. Lean manufacturing experience preferred. Must have worked in a manufacturing environment.


Industry Experience: Experience in deep draw metal stamping industry preferred


Technical Competencies โ€“ specifically related to this position

Dexterity: Good manual dexterity and coordination.

Comprehension: Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures and work instructions. Ability to understand and utilize SPC and measuring devices.

Physical Requirements: Ability to move up to 50 pounds.

Interpersonal Communications: Ability to convey information accurately and effectively.

Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes: Ability to understand and utilize manufacturing processes.

Lean Thinking: Learns and practices lean principles and applies tools and techniques.
