Packer Job Description

Pay Rate: $10.00 per hour                                          Job Type: Full Time Packer- 1st and 2nd Shift.

 

Position Summary

The Chip Line Packer Reports to the production supervisor and is a key member of our “Julio’s Family. This position Primary role is responsible for Inspecting and Packing products.

Job Duties:

·        Inspects and hand pack products properly at a production line’s rate of operation.

·        Responsible for following all food safety policies and procedures, current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), SSOP’s and HACCP plan

·        Perform daily and weekly sanitation procedures.

·        Marks cartons with date during line set up and changeovers as required by production schedule.

·        Assists with packaging line start up and changeovers.

·        Assists in other departments as required.

·        Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

                NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED- WILL TRAIN

·        Excellent communication skills (including listening, writing, speaking) required.

·        Strong Organizational skills required.

·        Ability to perform math (add, divide, fractions, percentages).

·        Ability to conduct on-going interpersonal interactions, analyze and solve problems.

·        Ability to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize work.

·        Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software and the ability to navigate and research the Internet.

·        Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred English is required.

·        High School diploma or general education degree preferred, but not required.

Working Conditions:

Manufacturing environment in a food manufacturing facility.

Physical Requirements:

·        Must be able to lift and move up to a minimum of 50 pounds.

·        Employee will be subject to dust, noise, and odor.

·        The physical activity of this position includes, but is limited to routine walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, sitting, and visual activity.

Schedule: 8–12-hour shift (morning, or evening) Weekends / Potential Overtime
