Job Description

Starting Pay Range:ย  $16-$17/hr

2nd Shift Differential: $2/hr

Shift Hours:ย  2:00 PM to 10:00 PMย 

Assist with filling and/or packaging orders from theย warehouseย in preparation for shipment. Help maintain
theย warehouseย and inventory of products and/or customer supplied materials. Assist with training and
continuous improvement efforts.

  • Pickย or package a variety of printed materials or related items using a variety of packing procedures and techniques.
  • Follow detailed procedures to perform routine packing work. Assemble finished products into boxes or containers for shipping.
  • Operate computers and relevant warehouse management software.
  • Perform related tasks such as placing labels on packages, putting manuals into binders, and handling boxes for final product. Ensure accurate shipping information is attached and packages are shipped according to specified schedule.ย 
  • Place, arrange, mark, seal, and tag items in bundles, on pallets and/or in containers, bins, and bulk storage.ย 
  • Meet established productivity and quality standards.
  • Identify potential issues and involve department Lead and/or management to determine an appropriate solution.
  • Participate in continuous training and development of employees and temporary labor.
  • Count and sort various product items.
  • May feed, remove, flex, jog, and stack printed sheets, folded signatures, labels or other in-process product ย to and from the equipment in the area assigned.ย ย 
  • Load and unloads materials onto pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.ย ย May load materials into trucks and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools.ย 
  • Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, or other device.ย ย May occasionally operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
  • May assist with special projects or more complex customer orders.
  • Assist with maintaining the security and safety of the warehouse.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 1+ year of relevant working experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment required
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret job specifications and identifying the correct parts for fulfilling customer orders.
  • Must have very good oral and written communication skills sufficient to explain departmental procedures and/or methods when completing assignments.ย 
  • Basic knowledge of routine packing procedures, techniques, equipment and general warehouse procedures.
  • Able to stock, move, arrange, and rotate items in accordance with operating instructions or under guidance of a higher-level employee.ย 
  • Able to complete appropriate forms relating to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and the labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Skill in assembling standard shipping boxes and packing contents securely.
  • Basic skill in the use of shrink-wrap or strapping equipment's, manual dollies, pallet jacks, carts or hand trucks and hand tools used in material handling tasks such as strapping and stretch wrapping tools and equipment, tape fasteners, metal band sheers and related equipment.
  • Basic arithmetic to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Must be willing to flex schedule to meet the needs of production, including working overtime or a different shift, if needed.
  • Must be able to use a ladder to pick items or to retrieve boxes or materials.

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $16.00 to $17.00 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include, overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
