Job description

BRMi is seeking an experienced Software Packaging Engineer to support a large financial services client’s EUC Software Delivery Enhancements Project, a strategic initiative focused on modernizing software packaging and application delivery across the enterprise.

The Software Packaging Engineer will be responsible for assessing, packaging, testing, deploying, and supporting an existing portfolio of enterprise Windows applications, with a significant focus on migrating traditionally installed applications to Liquidware FlexApp application layering technology.

The successful candidate will work closely with End User Computing (EUC), Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and business stakeholders to develop reliable and scalable application delivery solutions. This role requires strong hands-on experience with enterprise software packaging, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), PowerShell, application troubleshooting, and software lifecycle management.

Experience with Liquidware FlexApp is strongly preferred, particularly experience creating, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining FlexApp application layers within VDI and Windows endpoint environments.

  • Package and repackage enterprise Windows applications using MSI and other packaging technologies.
  • Create, test, deploy, and maintain Liquidware FlexApp application packages.
  • Assess existing applications for FlexApp migration, including dependencies and compatibility requirements.
  • Test packaged applications across VDI and physical Windows environments.
  • Troubleshoot application installation, compatibility, deployment, and performance issues.
  • Deploy and manage applications using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM).
  • Develop PowerShell scripts to automate application packaging, deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Support application upgrades, patches, version changes, and retirement.
  • Work with EUC, Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and application teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain packaging standards, procedures, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation.
  • Support software delivery modernization and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as required.

  • 3+ years of Software Packaging Engineering experience.
  • Experience packaging and repackaging enterprise software in Windows environments.
  • Strong knowledge of MSI packaging and Windows application deployment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM).
  • Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
  • Experience troubleshooting application installation and compatibility issues.
  • Experience with application testing and software lifecycle management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
