Description
Performs inspections for product quality and periodically monitors packaging equipment to maintain packaging efficiencies.
Support the review, understanding and compliance of all programs, policies and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System. Understand that I am responsible for reporting food safety issues observed so appropriate action can be taken. Actively participate and support the 5S and MES initiatives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Inspects the pouches for seal integrity, proper pouch codes, bad seals, creases, rips, tears, puncture marks/holes, and product quality using set quality control guidelines/standards. Insure that cases are properly indexed prior to packaging and sealing. Monitor sealed cases to insure they are sealed by performing case seal integrity tests and monitoring case codes for legible codes. Hand applies labels in preparation of up coming productions. Cleans and maintains packaging area and equipment to meet all GMP guidelines set for a food manufacturing facility.

  1. Periodically monitor packaging equipment settings for accuracy, replenishing consumables (I.E. glue and fiber) as needed to maintain efficiencies.

  1. Work in conjunction with new customer requirements with relation to product labeling and carton configurations.

  1. Performs other duties as needed or assigned by Supervisor or Line Lead.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Years and Type of Related Experience Required:
Production line experience preferred
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Interpersonal and Communication:
Ability to function with minimal supervision including the capacity to follow verbal and written instruction, team player, ability to speak and write English
Technical and Analytical:
Ability to count accurately, attention to detail
Administrative and Operations:
Ability to read labels and codes on boxes and product. Understand and follow all company policies and procedures.
Physical Demands:
Agile, ability to stand for long periods of time, reaching, periodic lifting of 40+ lbs, stretching, bending, pulling, pushing
Work Environment:
Food plant, cold, hot and humid conditions, wet floors, high noise levels, forklift and pedestrian traffic. This is a Safety Sensitive position.

Label machines, thermometers, various packaging machines, communication radios.
