Job description

Job Title: Warehouse AssociatePosition Overview

We are seeking motivated and dependable Warehouse Associates to join our growing operations team. In this role, you will support shipping, packaging, sorting, and jewelry processing functions in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, can maintain attention to detail, and thrive in a team-oriented setting. Both temporary and potential contract-to-hire opportunities are available.


Key Responsibilities1. Jewelry Packaging & Preparation
  • Carefully package jewelry items according to company standards.
  • Place jewelry into blue velvet bags along with care instruction cards.
  • Secure packaged items in shipping boxes or padded envelopes.
  • Apply barcode labels and shipping information accurately.
  • Verify packaging quality before shipment.
2. Pick, Pack, and Shipping Operations
  • Pick products from inventory locations using order information.
  • Scan items using warehouse scanners to ensure order accuracy.
  • Repack products securely for shipment.
  • Verify quantities, item descriptions, and shipping details.
  • Prepare completed orders for carrier pickup.
3. Mail Processing & Shipment Preparation
  • Organize mailer envelopes and shipping trays.
  • Seal and label packages according to shipping requirements.
  • Prepare outbound shipments for various carriers.
  • Ensure packages meet quality and compliance standards.
4. Mail Sorting
  • Sort incoming and outgoing mail efficiently.
  • Process up to 2,000 mail pieces per hour while maintaining accuracy.
  • Route shipments to appropriate carrier locations.
  • Identify and correct sorting errors before dispatch.
5. Quality Inspection
  • Inspect jewelry products for:
    • Correct size
    • Color consistency
    • Engraving accuracy
    • Product quality and presentation
  • Report damaged or incorrect items to supervisors.
  • Ensure all products meet customer order specifications prior to shipment.
6. Jewelry Bench Operations
  • Work at jewelry preparation stations.
  • Place items into velvet bags and packaging materials.
  • Apply labels and prepare products for final shipment.
  • Maintain workstation organization and cleanliness.

Required QualificationsPhysical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds safely.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
  • Comfortable performing repetitive tasks throughout the day.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a warm warehouse environment, particularly during summer months.

Schedule

    • 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Mandatory or voluntary overtime may be required during peak seasons, particularly the holiday period.
  • Extended work hours may be available based on business demands.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Torrington, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
