Job Title: ShipperJob Description

The Shipper prepares, packages, and processes construction materials for outbound shipments using FedEx and UPS systems while maintaining accurate inventory records in an ERP platform similar to SAP. This role involves verifying orders, creating shipping labels, moving materials within a warehouse environment using an electric ride-along pallet jack, and supporting basic receiving and inventory activities.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare customer orders for shipping by accurately following pick sheets and shipping documentation.
  • Verify shipping sheets for accuracy, ensuring correct quantities, item descriptions, and destination details before processing shipments.
  • Properly package construction materials for shipment, confirming weight, dimensions, and packaging integrity to meet carrier requirements.
  • Create and process shipping labels using FedEx and UPS systems, ensuring all information is accurate and complete.
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to and over 50 pounds throughout the shift as needed.
  • Use a ride-along electric pallet jack to pick orders from racks and move inventory to staging areas and trucks according to pick sheets.
  • Move inventory between racks, trucks, and other designated warehouse locations in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Track and update inventory using SAP or similar ERP systems to maintain accurate warehouse records.
  • Support receiving activities by assisting with the unloading, verification, and placement of incoming materials when needed.
  • Perform picking, packing, loading, unloading, and order pulling tasks to meet customer specifications and shipping deadlines.
  • Use RF scanners or similar devices, when applicable, to scan and track inventory and orders.
  • Work safely around forklift operators and other material handling equipment, maintaining awareness of surroundings and following warehouse safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area, contributing to overall warehouse cleanliness and order.
  • Communicate clearly in English with team members and supervisors to coordinate shipping, receiving, and inventory tasks.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and quality standards related to shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of shipping experience using FedEx or UPS systems.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more repeatedly during the workday.
  • Minimum 6 months of computer-based inventory experience using systems similar to SAP or other ERP platforms.
  • Prior receiving experience in a warehouse or similar environment.
  • At least 6 months of general warehouse experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
  • Basic proficiency using FedEx or UPS shipping systems to create labels and process shipments.
  • Experience using an electric ride-along pallet jack to move materials within a warehouse.
  • Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, including packaging, loading, and unloading.
  • Comfort working with construction materials that may be heavy or bulky.
  • Ability to work safely in a warehouse environment around forklifts and other material handling equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems for inventory tracking is a strong plus.

Work Environment

This role is based in a true warehouse environment focused on construction materials. The warehouse is clean, well-organized, and structured around picking and packing orders according to customer specifications. Team members work around active forklift operations and other material handling equipment, so situational awareness and adherence to safety procedures are important. The position follows a consistent schedule of Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. No personal tools are required, and work is performed indoors, moving inventory from racks to trucks and back using an electric ride-along pallet jack and related warehouse equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
