OVERVIEW
The Packaging Mechanic works under the direction of Packaging Maintenance Supervisor to ensure packaging and palletizing equipment in their assigned area is maintained in excellent running condition.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for providing maintenance services through the packaging areas.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on packaging and palletizing equipment.
  • Perform routine corrective maintenance services, including mechanical, rigging, metal fabrication, welding, cutting, drilling, and basic to intermediate electrical repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance services, including cleaning and lubrication on mechanical equipment, time-based maintenance, and inspections.
  • Collaborate with team members, such as prioritizing critical repairs and performing maintenance in a team based environment.
  • Ensures safety and good manufacturing practices are followed.
  • Ensures working areas are kept clean during and after repairs are made.

Job Requirements
  • Ability to work overtime, rotating shifts and weekends on a regular basis
  • Have a high regard and ownership for personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Ability to perform tasks wearing required PPE such as protective clothing, safety glasses/goggles, steel-toed boots, etc.
  • Ability to work as part of a team. Effectively communicate within the maintenance team and with operators.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • At least 2 years of experience in industrial, packaging, or manufacturing maintenance.

HOURLY RATE $43.14 per hour
  • The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate's qualifications and prior experience.
