Job Overview: A Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the manufacturing facility to support production operations. This position ensures assigned production departments have the materials needed to maintain workflow by transporting raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods throughout the facility. The Material Handler helps maintain inventory accuracy, organized work areas, and safe material handling practices while supporting efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support assigned production departments by staging, delivering, and replenishing materials needed for production.
  • Transport raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods between production work centers and designated storage locations.
  • Stage materials for upcoming production jobs according to the production schedule.
  • Remove completed parts from production areas and move them to the next operation or designated storage location.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor material levels within assigned production areas to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain organized and clean material storage, staging, and production areas.
  • Verify materials being moved match production requirements and report discrepancies to the Production Supervisor.
  • Assist with inventory transactions, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Inspect materials for visible damage and report any quality or inventory concerns.
  • Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and operating procedures.
  • Assist other production departments with material handling needs as business demands require.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Successfully complete the company forklift certification program.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling environment preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
