Job description

Package Lab Technician

If you thrive in a multi-faceted role and want to work to build a world-class Package Engineering organization with us—read on. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Assisting engineers with daily testing tasks and documenting test results to assist with Distribution Test Reports.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments of products and be responsible for the Lab Housekeeping and organization of supplies and materials.
  • Define packaging materials, with a focus on waste reduction.

The Packaging Lab Technician will be a fully on-site position. The Candidate will report to the Package Engineering team out of the Kendall campus. The job will be in the Shock & Vibration Lab where the Candidate will be conducting both physical testing and environmental exposure testing. The Candidate must be able to lift 50lbs. The Candidate must be detail oriented, must follow processes and procedures, and must be timely. The Package Engineering Department will provide specific Lab Trainings due to the unique nature of the job. The Candidate will execute packing instructions, conduct test sequences, download and manage data files, and provide input to the other engineers.

The Candidate will be responsible for assisting engineers with daily testing tasks and documenting test results to assist with Distribution Test Reports. The Candidate will be responsible for managing the Lab schedules and participating in weekly status report out of all projects coming in and out of the Labs. The Candidate will assist engineers with coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments of products. The Candidate will be responsible for the Lab Housekeeping and organization of supplies and materials. Attention to detail is critical to this position.

Nice to haves:

  • College education in Packaging, or Material Sciences, or like programs.
  • Experience or knowledge with Packaging Standards such as ASTM D series and/or ISTA.
  • Other Engineering course work, such as Mechanical or Electrical.
  • Packing or Warehouse experience.
  • CAD or drafting and design experience.

Education: Higher Education or College coursework in Packaging, or Material Sciences, or like programs. Preferred experience in related FDA regulated field. Attention to Detail. Experience in technical writing; ISO and GMP as required.
