About The Opportunity
The Application Engineer Intern will learn all facets of the returnable-packaging sales cycle from start to finish. This includes exposure to design, estimating, and accompanying experienced Application Engineers on customer visits for first-hand training.
The intern will support the Application Engineering Team at ORBIS Corporation on projects throughout the summer and fall semester (beginning June 2026). You will receive guidance from a dedicated mentor and participate in Menasha Corporation's Intern Program, which emphasizes connection, skill-building, and professional development.
Areas of Learning/Responsibilities
  • Learn all facets of the Returnable Packaging sales cycle
  • Customer Interaction, including: face-to-face meetings and delivering finished product and quote to customers
  • Train on our design process:
    • Information required to start a design
    • Entering project into our design software
    • Reviewing / approving completed designs
    • Quote process
    • Sample process
  • Visit ORBIS locations to learn the production cycle
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Working towards a degree in Packaging Engineering is strongly desired
  • Must be self-motivated and reliable
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of Solidworks and Autodesk Inventor
  • Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

We are open to an intern starting in Fall or Winter, but are hoping someone can be with us for at least 6 months. This is an onsite internship in our Troy, MI office.
