Role

The Design Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating the design process across multiple projects, with a particular focus on design development and delivery.

You will act as the central point of coordination across architects, engineers, and consultants, ensuring projects are design-led, commercially viable, and delivered to the highest standard.


  • Lead and manage the design process from concept through construction documentation and delivery Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure design excellence and technical alignment
  • Review and refine design packages, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and investment strategy
  • Oversee value engineering initiatives without compromising design integrity
  • Collaborate closely with development and construction teams to ensure smooth project execution
  • Support planning, entitlements, and regulatory approvals where required
  • Monitor design progress, mitigating risks and driving timely decision-making
  • Maintain a consistent design standard across multiple projects within the portfolio


This role offers a unique opportunity to sit on the owner/operator side, working closely with senior leadership, development, and investment teams to shape projects from early-stage design through delivery.


Candidate

This role requires a candidate with a minimum of five years’ experience in design or design management, capable of operating confidently with external consultants while aligning design outcomes with commercial and investment objectives.


  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in design, architecture, or design management
  • Previous experience working with developers, private equity platforms, or institutional owners preferred
  • Strong understanding of design development, documentation, and construction processes
  • Experience delivering large-scale residential, mixed-use, or commercial projects
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with high ownership
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
