Job description

TITLE: Production Supervisor/Paper Packaging
POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Supervisor will support and guide machine operators in efficiently running their machines. This role requires a hands-on approach, with the supervisor being actively involved in machine operations.
Positions open for first and second shifts Monday - Friday with some Saturdays.
Training is required on first shift.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in troubleshooting and maintaining production machinery.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in food packaging.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly and act decisively.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly instruct and support machine operators.
  • Bilingual Spanish is required.
  • Willingness to learn and operate new machinery, with an ability to adapt to changing production needs.
  • Ability to manage time effectively balancing supervision, troubleshooting, and learning new equipment.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Learn the basic machine operations to understand the processes.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and support to machine operators, ensuring machines are running efficiently and production goals are met.
  • Assist operators in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues with machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining production flow.
  • Train and mentor machine operators on best practices, safety protocols, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing issues as they arise to ensure smooth operation across the production floor.
  • Monitor production quality to ensure products meet all relevant standards and specifications.
  • Ensure all production activities comply with company safety policies and industry regulations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
  • Fast-paced production floor with exposure to machinery noise and variable temperatures.
  • Must adhere to all safety regulations, including the use of PPE.

TRAINING:
  • Must complete ongoing training as required.

MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICES & SOFTWARE:
  • Must have experience with basic hand tools.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Software.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds as necessary.
