Job description

Position Summary
The Packaging Technician is responsible for accurately packaging finished cannabis products into their designated final packaging and preparing products for shipment by placing packaged items into case boxes. This role ensures products meet quality, regulatory, and packaging standards while maintaining strict compliance with Missouri cannabis regulations, facility procedures, and production schedules. The Packaging Technician must maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while supporting efficient manufacturing operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Package finished products according to established work instructions, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Inspect products and packaging materials for defects or inconsistencies before packaging.
  • Assemble, label, and seal final product packaging as required.
  • Place packaged products into designated case boxes according to packing requirements.
  • Verify product counts, lot numbers, labels, and packaging accuracy before case packing.
  • Maintain packaging equipment and workstations in a clean and organized condition.
  • Monitor packaging material inventory and notify management of low stock levels.
  • Follow all safety, quality, sanitation, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
  • Complete production, inventory, and packaging documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with line setup, changeovers, cleaning, and production support activities as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance packaging efficiency, quality, and compliance.
  • Adhere to all Missouri cannabis regulations, facility policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality standards.
  • Maintain strict compliance with state-mandated tracking, packaging, labeling, and inventory control requirements.
  • Follow all security, sanitation, and recordkeeping procedures required by Missouri cannabis laws and regulations.
  • Participate in required compliance, safety, and operational training programs.
  • Immediately report any compliance concerns, discrepancies, quality issues, or violations to management.
  • Help manufacturing team with product production.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager

Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, production, packaging, or assembly experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience in cannabis, pharmaceutical, food production, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to follow written procedures, work instructions, and SOPs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic math, counting, and recordkeeping skills.

Licensing and Compliance Requirements
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a valid Missouri Cannabis Facility Agent Identification Card (Agent ID) as required by state regulations.

  • Must maintain compliance with all Missouri cannabis laws, regulations, and facility policies as a condition of employment.
