Job description

Role and Responsibilities
  • Development of a strong pipeline of new customers and projects through direct or indirect customer contact and prospecting.
  • Formulates standard/routine proposals in conjunction with various team members.
  • Assists other Business Development Associates in developing project plans, defining roles and responsibilities and the scope of work for each project.
  • Draft the narrative that ties the project components together and package and assist in presenting the proposal to the customer.
  • Communicate the outcome of negotiations/proposals focusing back to team members, focusing on conveying the expectations set forth for each group.
  • Collaborate with Operations & Accounting to evaluate project performance and recommend refinements and improvements of all components of proposals.
  • Track and report on the status of all proposal components in Salesforce CRM.
  • Establish and maintain on-going client relationships with the various parties to anticipate and resolve potential problems and grow the accounts.
  • Participate in site visits, as needed.
  • Qualify and nurture sales leads generated by phone, internet marketing, demos, webinars, trade shows, industry, and target account lists into eager, returning & referring customers.
  • Proactively develop potential sales leads by prospecting and proactive selling efforts.
  • Engage leads generated through marketing activity and develop them into viable prospects.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Account Executives to determine essential strategic approaches for account attainment in defined markets.
  • Educate clients about terminology, features and benefits of services in order to improve sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Support other Business Development team members, as needed.
 Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • 4-year degree from an accredited university preferred; equivalent years of experience required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Outside Sales
  • Hazmat or DG knowledge is a plus.

  • Ability to manage multiple and diverse projects simultaneously.

  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and establish trust and credibility quickly.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
