Job Summary
The Quality inspector is responsible for ensuring that products, materials, and services provided meet the requirements established by customers, procedures, and specifications.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Accurately use common measurement tools, such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.
  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, procedures and work instructions.
  • Use statistical sampling plans, such ASQ-ANSIZ1.4 or similar.
  • Understand the ISO9001/AS9100 and how it applies to a Quality Control position.
  • Match colors, textures and appearances to established standards.
  • Verify the proper functionality of final assemblies.
  • Ability to work as a team, both within and outside of the department.
  • Must be able to follow instructions (Written and Verbal) and work independently with minimal supervision and minimal mistakes
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensions & Tolerances.
  • Understanding of calibration and calibration systems.
  • Intermediate computer skills, such as the ability to navigate Windows operating systems and ERP
  • Transportation: Ability to travel between Harper Facilities when required without prior notice.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Sit for extended periods of time, full dexterity to reach, push, pull complex assemblies
  • Perform Receiving, In-Process and Final Inspections
  • Perform AS9102 based First Article Inspections
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Have strong communications skills
  • Be able to work under high pressure and be able to meet deadlines
  • Must have intermediate computer skills, such as the ability to navigate Windows operating systems and ERP
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Be Team oriented and be able to work with all levels of employees
  • Must be attentive and maintain 98% quality rating

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5 years minimum of directly related experience

Work Environment / Physical Demands:
  • Primarily production floor environment
  • Often exposed to loud, bustling or dusty environments
  • Regularly required to sit and stand.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance.
  • Occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
