Job Description:

Position Summary:Responsible for safely and efficiently receiving, verifying, tallying, loading/unloading, inspecting, packaging, stacking, and transporting materials.  Accountabilities include meeting production goals, tracking and retaining records, and maintaining quality standards and team objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Drives large truck, transporting materials between Off Site Warehouse and Grants Pass facility
  • Schedules, coordinates, and documents daily production functions.
  • Inspects, verifies, and records received raw materials and product on daily basis.
  • Performs computer input of material, product, and freight handling activities, related to inventory control.
  • Support Continuous Improvement by participating in and sustaining the MasterBrand Production System (MPS).
  • Supports, maintains and sustains 5S initiatives.
  • Loads, unloads, and stacks materials on to and off conveyer belts, pallets, pallet jacks, dollies, and forklifts, ensuring proper load height and arrangement.
  • Reads, comprehends and completes dock reports, following the stocking JQR.
  • Applies proper tags to product and/or cartons.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory accuracy, and performs cycle counts.
  • Stocks working area with tags, cartons, and other necessary supplies.
  • Performs other various duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Drives forklift to move product and materials.

Knowledge and Experience: 

  • Must have valid driver’s license and driving record in good standing.
  • Must have working knowledge of Excel program
  • Ability to accurately use and read tape measure, steel rule, caliper, fixed-gauge measuring devices, micrometers, and other precision instrument, both metric and standard
  • Ability to maintain production goals, including flexible hours as required
  • Ability to count and verify parts to ensure accuracy or raw materials and product ordered and received
  • Ability to understand and perform decimal/fraction/metric calculation and conversion
  • Knowledge of data entry and computer operation
  • Knowledge of protective carton packaging procedures
  • Knowledge of accepted procedures for the safe and proper handling of hazardous chemicals and materials
  • Knowledge of product and raw materials involved in cabinet manufacturing

  • Read, write, comprehend and carry out all written and verbal departmental instructions.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work area, giving safety of self and others a priority.
  • Follow all established safety practices and procedures, including reading and understanding materials safety data sheets, lock-out policy, and entanglement policy.
  • Meet, maintain or exceed quality standards.
  • Maintain and promote positive attitude, teamwork and cooperation

Work Environment: 

  • Manufacturing environment, with frequent exposure to wood dusts, and cabinet-making related materials.
  • Exposure to hot and cold elements due to non-climate controlled environment.
  • Wearing of Personal Protection Equipment required:  eye and ear protection.

Sensory/ Physical Requirements:

Sensory:          

  • Frequent speaking, hearing, near vision, far vision and touch.

Physical:         

  • Frequent head/neck static position, rotation, flexion and extension. 
  • Frequent change in torso/back position, frequent stooping, bending and twisting. 
  • Frequent finger dexterity.
  • Frequent simple grasp, firm grasp and wrist flexion. 
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, and climbing of stairs and ramps.
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching and carrying.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive-motion tasks for the duration of working shift.
  • Must be able to climb step ladders to a height of 10 feet and perform effectively on a wave/lift that will raise up to 10 feet 6 inches.
