Position Overview:
The Package Designer will take conceptual direction and work collaboratively with the Creative team and Marketing partners to create graphics and packaging based on requirements to meet the creative objectives of world class brands and clients, as well as inhouse projects. Contribute by suggesting fresh ideas, designing mockups, delivering quality design work, and being a hands-on team player. Basic Package Engineering and hand skills are required.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Help to manage Basic Fun!'s brand and design, building an exciting and cohesive look across company collateral
  • Creates graphics and packaging independently and take direction in a team based environment
  • Edits image for print, web, and interactive mediums
  • Generates mocks for pitching and proposals
  • Prioritizes and manages multiple projects at once
  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed
  • Adheres to specifications and direction outlined by the creative director and client
  • Understands and adhere to Basic Fun!'s standards of design
  • Incorporates changes recommended by the client and creative director, and amend designs after feedback
  • Understands the importance of following a brand guide document to ensure that assets are on brand, on strategy, and accurately executed based on approved assets and style guidelines
  • Maintains a high level of knowledge and skill with all computer software related to the design and production of packaged goods and graphics
  • Ensures and maintains a positive environment with team members

Skills, knowledge and abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Package Design or related field or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Have a diverse creative portfolio that showcases an in depth understanding of contemporary design practices.
  • Expert knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and lnDesign
  • Amazing attention to detail
  • Manage time and work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, multi-project environment
  • Have an excellent understanding of design fundamentals including layout and composition
  • Desire to learn and contribute in a creative, collaborative environment
  • Ability to interact with team members and other departments
  • Understanding of package structure and engineering
  • Ability to travel, as needed
  • Basic creative hand skills as required
  • Packaging/Graphic design: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Adobe Illustrator: 5 years
  • Adobe Photoshop: 5 years
  • Adobe lnDesign: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Full-time on-site position located at our company's headquarter offices in Boca Raton, Florida.
