What is a PV installer?

PV Installers, also known as photovoltaic installers or solar panel installers, are professionals who set up and maintain solar panels on rooftops or other structures to convert sunlight into electricity. They are responsible for assembling, installing, and sometimes maintaining solar photovoltaic systems. PV installers work with a variety of power and hand tools and must understand electrical systems to ensure safe and efficient installation. Their work helps increase the use of renewable energy and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a PV installer?

To thrive as a PV Installer, you need a solid understanding of electrical systems, experience with hand and power tools, and typically a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with photovoltaic (solar) panel installation, safety protocols, and certifications such as OSHA or NABCEP are highly valued.
