Job Summary
Position ensures PSEG Nuclear achieves excellence in the planning, preparation and execution of refuel outages. The position will provide direction for the fleet long term strategy and alignment of the fleet outage 10 year business plan. The position will identify avenues to optimize outage performance and will align the fleet in best practices for the conduct of refueling outages.
Job Responsibilities
  • Lead, develop and direct all nuclear sites to ensure that they have processes, procedures, and personnel properly trained and qualified to operate, maintain, and modify nuclear power plants and to ensure superior performance of all outage activities in a safe and reliable manner consistent with industry standards and federal regulations.
  • Enforce outage policies and procedures.
  • Provides independent reviews of outage milestones and activities.
  • Own and champion the standardization of fleet processes and procedures and is the final decision maker on those matters when consensus cannot be reached.
  • Provide strategic direction to ensure the continual improvement of scoping, scheduling, and coordination of work to align with the financial and operating objectives of the Corporation.
  • Monitor fleet activities to identify design changes and procedural changes for improvements that are nuclear safety related, industrial safety related or related to efficiency or productivity.
  • Performs self-assessments and benchmarking of other nuclear facilities for fleet outage activities.
  • Oversees program implementation to maximize maintenance and forced outage performance.
  • Implement process improvements and maintain standardization among all PSEG nuclear units.
  • Identify strategies to optimize our outage durations to achieve industry top quartile performance.
  • Drive best practices to leverage resource sharing across sites to improve efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Identifies best practices for the Operations Department in the conduct of outages.
  • Identifies strategies to optimize refuel floor activities.
  • Identify data and metrics to track performance
  • Utilize innovation to improve outage processes
  • Lead T-3 Readiness Assessments
  • Provide Input to selection of outage vendors
  • Support PSEG Refueling Outages as a leader on the execution team
  • Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization

Job Specific Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Engineering, Science or Business with 10 years of Commercial Nuclear Power Experience which includes achievement of an SRO License at either a PWR or BWR facility
  • In lieu of degree; 15 years of commercial Nuclear Power Plant Experience with experience in Operations and Outage Management and an SRO License at a PWR or BWR
  • Must have demonstrated successful leadership skills in an outage organization
  • Incubment may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions
  • Must meet and maintain nuclear requirements for Unescorted Site Access.
  • A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation (see https://www.pseg.com/IDrequirement) is required for this position by May 7, 2027.
  • Compliance with the Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.
