Job Description
We offer a merit-based work-from-home program based on job responsibilities. After initial training in-person, you could have the flexibility of work-from-home time as defined by the leadership team.
Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking an experienced and motivated Casualty Claims professional to join our team. This job requires mastery of claims-handling skills and requires the person to:
  • Investigate assigned casualty claims by collecting statements, physical evidence, and legal documentation.
  • Analyze and interpret policy coverage and determine liability and damages.
  • Negotiate claims settlements in accordance with company procedures and within authority limits.
  • Communicate claim status to all relevant stakeholders, including insureds and agents.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in company systems and adhere to regulatory and internal standards.
  • Participate in training and education programs to enhance claim-handling skills.
  • Travel as needed for onsite investigations or meetings.
  • Maintain punctual attendance according to an assigned work schedule at a Company-approved work location.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • At least 1 year of related insurance or claims experience.
  • Basic understanding of casualty policy language
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to gather and interpret information for effective claims resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and tasks efficiently
  • Interpersonal skills to deal with diverse customers and situations
