Job description

As an Escort or Pilot Car Driver for Buckingham Heavy Transportation, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe movement of oversized and over-dimensional loads on the road. Your primary responsibilities will include leading or following loads to ensure compliance with state regulations and ensuring the safety of the traveling public. This is a full-time position that will require overtime, heavy site labor and the ability to spend travel extensively based on transport schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the truck driver to ensure accurate routing and timing of transport.
  • Communicate with law enforcement and other escorts as needed to facilitate smooth transport.
  • Provide clear guidance and directions to the truck driver during transport.
  • Monitor road conditions and adjust routes as necessary.
  • Ensure all necessary permits and safety measures are in place for transport.
  • Maintain communication with the transport team throughout the journey.
  • Assist site crews with heavy site labor on a regular basis.
