Job description

Leads shop floor operations, overseeing safety, quality, scheduling, and efficiency from raw steel to finished product, managing teams, coordinating with project managers and detailers, and driving cost control while ensuring on-time delivery for complex building projects, requiring strong leadership, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight: Manage daily business activities to optimize productivity and meet production targets.
  • Safety & Compliance: Oversee safety programs and ensure strict adherence to industry regulations like AISC, OSHA, ISO standards.
  • Production Planning: Develop fabrication schedules, monitor output, and adjust timelines to resolve bottlenecks.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high product quality standards throughout the fabrication and welding processes.
  • Staff Leadership: Supervise, train, and evaluate a large team of workers, from shop floor staff to supervisory leads.
  • Budgeting & Cost Management: Track material costs, manage production budgets, and implement cost-saving measures to ensure profitability.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience: 5+ years in structural steel fabrication/plant management.

• Strong Leadership: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and communicate effectively.

• Technical: Deep understanding of fabrication processes (cutting, welding, assembly) and industry standards.

• Management: Strong time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Familiar with OSHA standards and PPE safety practices is a must

• Powerfab and Fabstation experience is a plus
