Job description

Armorer (ARM) (S)

Overview:

SOC is a trusted global provider of mission solutions with a history of assuring safe and effective operations for U.S. Government and commercial customers. SOC provides a guarantee of discrete and effective service so that customers can do their best work. We employ over 5,000 professionals engaged in the delivery of mission critical safeguards and security, facility management and operations, engineering, explosive ordnance storage and disposal, and international logistics and life support services. Our customers include the U.S. Departments of State, Energy, and Defense, Fortune 500 companies, and non-governmental organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the DOS weapons program officer from DS/PSP/DEAV for all work related technical activities.
  • Maintains open communications with DS/PSP/DEAV Armory for all work related technical activities.
  • Repairs and maintains all task order weapons, as outlined in the SOW.
  • Responsible for the installation of special technical equipment for DOS weapons, including but not limited to: USG-Provided Optical Devices, Flashlights, Grenade Launchers, Night Vision Equipment, and Laser Sights.

Qualifications:

  • US Citizen
  • Level Three English Language Proficiency
  • Must have a Valid Blue Passport
  • Must possess valid certifications from the manufacturer or other source of instruction approved by DS/PSP/DEAV on all weapons identified in the task order.
  • Must possess a minimum of four (4) years of military (MOS 2111, 45 Bravo, or equivalent) or law enforcement armorer experience.
    • A minimum of one (1) year of this experience must have been earned overseas.
  • He/she shall be Factory certified on a continual basis, as required, on all weapons for which he/she is responsible.
  • **Must have active certifications from the following manufacturers (this requirement cannot be waived)**
    • FN 249/240B
    • Glock
    • Remington M700/870
    • Colt M4/M16/AR15 and M203
    • Knight's Armament SR25
  • Must possess the ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Attend and successfully complete the NPSS training course as outlined in the SOW.
  • Qualify with the Glock-19 and M-4, requalifying as required by the Task Order.
  • Attend and successfully complete the armorer in-brief and orientation conducted by DS/PSP/DEAV
  • Obtain and maintain a personal security clearance/Public Trust certification as identified in the Task Order.

We expect this position will be included in the recent federal Executive Order (EO) and subsequent guidance, requiring federal contractors and employers with more than 100 employees to implement a vaccine mandate; therefore, it is expected that anyone hired into this position will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencement of employment in accordance with the EO and any subsequent guidance, unless an accommodation is legally required.
