Job description

Park South Hotel is seeking an Overnight Bellperson to provide friendly, professional, and efficient service to hotel guests during the overnight shift. The Bellperson assists guests with luggage, packages, directions, transportation, room moves, and general hotel information while helping maintain a welcoming and organized lobby environment.

The pay range for this position is $18.04 per hour to $24.05 per hour. Actual pay within this range will be determined based on applicable factors, which may include experience, qualifications, seniority, and rules per the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

This position requires strong guest service skills, good judgment, and the ability to work independently during overnight hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet guests in a warm and professional manner.
  • Assist guests with luggage upon arrival, departure, room moves, and storage.
  • Deliver luggage, packages, messages, amenities, and approved guest items.
  • Provide guests with hotel information, directions, and local recommendations.
  • Assist with taxi, car service, rideshare, and transportation requests.
  • Keep the bell stand, luggage room, carts, lobby, and entrance areas clean and organized.
  • Assist with group luggage handling, arrivals, and departures as needed.
  • Communicate guest requests, maintenance issues, safety concerns, and service opportunities to the appropriate department or Manager on Duty.
  • Support the Front Office team with guest service needs consistent with the Bellperson role.
  • Follow all hotel procedures related to guest privacy, package handling, luggage storage, safety, and security.
  • Provide assistance during emergencies as directed by management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, consistent with the Bellperson classification and applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Qualifications
  • Prior hotel, bellperson, front office, or guest service experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and remain calm during guest issues or emergencies.
  • Knowledge of New York City transportation, airports, neighborhoods, and attractions preferred.
  • Must be professional, reliable, and attentive to guest needs.

     
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull luggage, packages, and bell carts.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, and move safely through guest and service areas.
  • Must be able to use proper lifting and safety procedures.
