Job description

Summary
Are you a proven security professional with leadership experience and a commitment to operational excellence? Join our team as a PSO Supervisor and play a vital role in overseeing security operations at FPS-protected IRS facilities. In this position, you'll lead Protective Security Officers (PSOs), ensure compliance with federal security requirements, and help maintain a safe and secure environment for government personnel, visitors, and facilities.

Responsibilities
What You'll Do

As a PSO Supervisor, you will serve as the first line of leadership for assigned security personnel by:

  • Supervising daily activities of Protective Security Officers (PSOs)
  • Ensuring compliance with the FPS Statement of Work (SOW), Post Orders, and Post Desk Book requirements
  •  Managing shift operations and maintaining security coverage requirements
  • Monitoring officer performance, appearance, and adherence to established procedures
  •  Responding to routine and emergency security situations
  • Providing guidance, training, and direction to security personnel
  • Coordinating incident response and ensuring proper reporting procedures are followed
  • Conducting post inspections and maintaining operational readiness
  • Supporting the Captain and Contract Manager in achieving mission objectives

Qualifications
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience in armed security, law enforcement, military service, or federal protective services
  • Demonstrated experience supervising personnel in a security or operational environment
  • Meets all FPS Protective Security Officer medical standard qualification requirements
  • Valid Maryland State Police Security Guard Certification
  • Active Maryland Handgun Wear and Carry Permit
  • Current Maryland State Police approved firearms training and weapons qualification
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and comply with all FPS contract uniform and grooming standards as required
  • Prior experience with access control, screening operations, patrol and response, and incident reporting
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Respond effectively to emergencies and high-pressure situations
  • Must be eligible for and maintain required FPS suitability and access credentials

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
  • Ability to write clear, accurate, and timely reports

Estimated Salary/Wage
