Job description

The Laundry Attendant requires an approachable, friendly and polished demeanor with a guest focus mindset. As Laundry Attendant you will maintain all aspect of the handling of guest linens, which includes but is not limited to, preparation of soiled linen for wash, finishes, inspects, folds and stores clean linens.. You will support the Housekeeping Team while developing and nurturing relationships with all other departments, to ensure the guests are well cared for and have a memorable stay experience while visiting us!

Responsibilities
  • Have a warm and welcoming personality that can engage with guest and genuinely provide exceptional guest service and perform service recovery when needed.
  • Receive, evaluate condition, separate, and launder soiled linen from guest rooms.
  • Examine laundered items to ensure cleanliness and serviceability.
  • Fold and/or press linen as appropriate.
  • Perform reclaiming of stained linen as needed.
  • Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness of laundry room.
  • Store folded laundered items in linen room.
  • Conduct linen inventories as assigned by Executive Housekeeper.
  • Keep linen rooms in clean, stocked and orderly condition.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
  • Report maintenance issues to Housekeeping leadership
  • Adhere to company “Lost and Found” policy and procedures.
  • Perform duties assigned by Housekeeping leadership or Hotel Management Staff, which may include: Room Attendant, House Attendant, and/or Public Areas Attendant duties.
  • Maintain necessary supplies to perform job duties.
  • Responsible for working in a safe and conscientious manner. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to Company uniform and attendance policies.
  • Adhere to Company code of conduct.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Skills & Qualifications 
  • Previous hotel experience preferred, housekeeping or janitorial experience a plus.
  • Must have great people skills and spirit to serve.
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced environment.
  • Have independent problem-solving skills and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently handle guest request and complaints.
  • Ability to remain calm during emotionally charged situations.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. 
  • Proficient and English (verbal & written)
  • Spanish speaking a plus
  • Meticulous eye for detail and cleanliness

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • Ability to climb stairs, bend, reach above shoulders, kneel, twist, and grip items.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and auditory cues (telephone, radio)
  • Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing an average of 25-50 pounds.
  • Ability to extend arms overhead to perform various technical tasks, and work in confined spaces, under varying temperature extremes.
