Description

Position Summary

The Driver will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of goods to predetermined customers on specific routes in a safe driving manner, checking in orders prior to delivery, loading and unloading trucks and providing exceptional customer service to our client base. The work week is Mon - Thurs. Must be able to travel overnight Tuesday and Wednesday.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner
  • Reporting to work at the scheduled time and in uniform with a pen, phone and any navigation devices
  • Checking in orders to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied
  • Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles
  • Accepting payments on occasion
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules
  • Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record including E-logs when required
  • Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries
  • Having the customer sign for the delivery and noting on the invoice any product not on truck, damaged or refused

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of delivery experience required (up to 24' box truck)
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Medical DOT Card
  • Must be able to travel overnight Tuesday and Wednesday
  • Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and DOT regulations
  • Strong time management and customer service skills
  • Must possess a positive and professional attitude
  • Attention to detail
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Working Conditions

  • Driver will be outside in all weather conditions
  • Sitting, driving, lifting, and carrying/lifting product that could occasionally be up to 70 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
