Overnight traffic control flaggers often face challenges such as reduced visibility, fatigue, and managing the safety of both workers and drivers in low-light conditions. To address these challenges, flaggers use high-visibility clothing, proper lighting, and reflective equipment to remain visible. Staying alert through scheduled breaks, maintaining clear communication with the team, and following strict safety protocols are essential for minimizing risks and ensuring smooth traffic flow at night. Being proactive about personal safety and situational awareness is crucial in this role.
