Job description

Industrial Cleaning Technician I / II / III
New Berlin, WI
Primarily Overnight Field Work
Full-Time | Non-Exempt

Giddings Hawkins is hiring Industrial Cleaning Technicians at multiple experience levels. This is hands-on field work cleaning and maintaining commercial kitchen exhaust systems and industrial equipment. Most work is performed overnight and involves rooftop access, ladders, and physically demanding tasks.
We are hiring at three levels based on experience and capability. Candidates may qualify at Level I, II, or III depending on background.
Compensation
Level I - Entry-Level Technician
$25.00/hr (Day Shift)
$26.00/hr (Evening/Overnight Shift)
Level II - Experienced Technician
$26.00 - $28.00/hr based on experience
Level III - Team Lead Technician
$28.00+ per hour based on certifications and leadership experience
Overtime available and expected. Weekly pay. Benefits included.
Final level placement will be determined based on skills, certifications, and field experience.
What You'll Do
• Clean commercial kitchen exhaust systems (hoods, ducts, fans, vents)
• Operate pressure washers and industrial cleaning equipment
• Access rooftops, ladders, and elevated areas safely
• Remove grease buildup using approved tools and methods
• Travel locally to customer sites in company vehicles
• Work overnight shifts and extended hours as required
• Follow all safety and compliance standards (including NFPA 96)
Level II and III technicians may also:
• Drive company vehicles
• Lead small crews
• Complete job documentation and inspection reports
• Train and mentor junior technicians
• Ensure regulatory and safety compliance onsite
How Level Placement Works
Level I - Entry Level
No prior hood-cleaning experience required.
Ideal for dependable individuals with strong work ethic and willingness to learn a skilled trade.
Helpful backgrounds include:
Warehouse, landscaping, construction labor, industrial sanitation, pressure washing, restoration, military field roles.
Level II - Experienced Technician
Typically 1-3+ years of relevant field experience.
Must demonstrate independent equipment operation and strong safety awareness.
Transferable backgrounds may include:
Industrial maintenance, HVAC service, roofing, restoration technician, field service technician, mechanical technician, CDL field operations, commercial cleaning lead roles.
Level III - Team Lead Technician
3+ years of relevant field experience with leadership responsibility.
Responsible for supervising crews, jobsite execution, and safety compliance.
Transferable backgrounds may include:
Industrial maintenance supervision, HVAC lead tech, restoration project lead, roofing foreman, refinery or plant maintenance lead, municipal field supervisor, military NCO leadership roles.
Minimum Requirements (All Levels)
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs
• Ability to work at heights and on rooftops
• Comfortable with overnight and weekend shifts
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to pass background screening
• Strong reliability and attendance
Level II and III require insurable driving record and ability to obtain DOT Medical Card.
Work Environment
• Night and overnight work is common
• Physical, hands-on labor in industrial environments
• Exposure to grease, cleaning chemicals, heat, and outdoor weather
• Team-based field work
