Modern Expo & Events is seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined CDL Driver to support our nationwide trade show, event, and exhibit operations. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of trade show, event, exhibit, and rental equipment to and from client venues, warehouses, and job sites. This role plays a critical part in ensuring events are delivered on time, loaded correctly, and returned safely while maintaining a professional image with clients and venue partners. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our events are delivered safely, efficiently, and professionally while transporting resources that make those experiences possible.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with others, solving problems, operating equipment, driving commercial vehicles, and supporting a fast-paced event environment. This individual will play a key role in ensuring our transportation, vehicles, exhibits, and event materials are delivered safely, maintained properly, and ready for client events.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Transportation & Logistics

  • Safely operate company CDL vehicles, including box trucks, semi-trucks, trailers, and other commercial vehicles.
  • Transport exhibits, event equipment, furnishings, graphics, and materials to and from event venues nationwide.
  • Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and DOT-required vehicle inspections.
  • Ensure loads are properly secured and comply with DOT regulations.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, fuel records, inspection reports, and delivery documentation.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules with project managers, production managers, and warehouse staff.

Loading & Unloading

  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks.
  • Verify equipment against load lists and manifests.
  • Ensure freight is protected, organized, and secured during transport.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment as needed.

Event Support

  • Consult on support onsite logistics and freight coordination.
  • Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients, venues, and contractors.

Vehicle & Equipment Care

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned vehicles.
  • Report maintenance issues immediately.
  • Assist in routine fleet inspections and upkeep.

Team Support

  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist across departments as business needs require.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude and contribute to a culture of accountability and excellence.

Qualifications

Required

  • Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record.
  • Current DOT Medical Card.
  • Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and overnight trips.
  • Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Forklift certification.
  • Experience in trade shows, events, logistics, or exhibit transportation.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse operations.
