Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Compounding Technician to perform sterile IV compounding tasks while adhering to stringent USP guidelines. This role requires proficiency in pharmaceutical mathematics and precision in dosage calculations to ensure optimal patient safety and treatment effectiveness.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
  • Sterile IV Compounding: Accurately measure, calculate, and mix specialized intravenous medications inside a clean room environment, following strict USP guidelines.
  • Precision Math & Calculations: Perform complex medication dosing calculations to ensure exact ratios; accurate math is critical to ensuring patient safety and treatment efficacy.
  • Clean Room Protocol Maintenance: Adhere strictly to clean room compliance, personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Communicate clearly with internal authorization, benefit, and clinical teams, as well as external healthcare providers, to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Patient & Client Support: Deliver exceptional customer service through clear, professional communication regarding medication orders and processing status.

Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Certifications
  • Active and valid Pharmacy Technician License in good standing.

Qualifications
  • Math Proficiency: Strong mastery of algebra and pharmaceutical mathematics (e.g., unit conversions, ratio/proportion equations, and concentration calculations).
  • Physical Stamina & Dexterity: Ability to remain on your feet for the full duration of an 8-hour shift. Exceptional fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity for precise syringe manipulation and mixing. Comfort working in full clean room PPE (full garb, hoods, masks, gloves, and gowns) for extended periods.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to high-touch customer service.

Experience
  • Sterile compounding experience preferred.
  • Experience utilizing pharmacy management systems preferred.

Schedule / Shift
  • Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts starting between 7-11:30am.
  • Rotating weekend shifts.
  • Latest end time is 8pm.
