Job description


Performs roles in healthcare scenarios for educating learners. May act as a model for physical exams, ultrasound scanning, and other medical procedures. Provides verbal and written learner feedback from the patient perspective, when requested by course directors. May be videotaped in both classroom and testing situations. May be asked to appear in educational videos.
**Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
Qualifications
Previous acting experience preferred. Must meet certain clinical demographic specifications depending on case needs. Medical background may be required for specific cases. Ability to fluently speak a second language is a benefit for specific scenarios. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Capable of offering realistic character portrayals. Improvisational and memorization skills beneficial. Receptive to direction and able to effectively implement adjustments. Capable of working well within a team. Must be available to attend additional workshops to meet Mayo compliancy requirements, to be trained in providing both written and oral feedback, and to enhance skills as a Standardized Patient. Seeking applicants that can play roles for younger/adolescent patients. Seeking applicants that can speak fluent Spanish. Seeking applicants that have previous clinical background.
