*This position requires you to work in-office and on-site as needed. *
Launch Your Career in Local Media:
Are you looking to get your foot in the door of the media industry and gain real, hands-on experience? At Townsquare Media Group, we're seeking a dependable, team-oriented Part-Time Board Operator who's eager to learn, grow, and support our on-air, digital, and event operations.
This is an entry-level, part-time role ideal for someone with a flexible schedule who enjoys variety, fast-paced environments, and being part of live broadcasts and community events. You'll work behind the scenes in the studio, out in the community as a brand ambassador, and alongside multiple departments as you build foundational media experience.
Why Townsquare Media?
Townsquare is a media, entertainment, and digital marketing solutions company dedicated to serving small and mid-sized markets across the U.S. We own and operate 354 radio stations and more than 400 local websites across 74 markets-including trusted Butte stations.
We combine the power of local media with best-in-class digital solutions to help businesses grow-offering everything from broadcast and digital advertising to SEO, web design, and programmatic marketing.
What You'll Do:
As a Part-Time Board Operator, you'll support daily broadcast operations and live events while helping protect the quality and integrity of our stations. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Operating control boards for in-studio and remote programming
  • Regulating program timing, playing commercials, and running syndicated content
  • Monitoring the technical quality and accuracy of incoming and outgoing on-air programming
  • Protecting the station's license by following FCC guidelines and censoring prohibited content when necessary
  • Processing time-out programming to ensure accurate playback
  • Identifying and reporting technical issues to Engineering to maintain broadcast quality
  • Screening incoming phone calls and selecting callers for on-air talent and talk shows
  • Handling emergency inserts such as breaking news, alerts, and system tests
  • Assisting with basic administrative and operational tasks as needed
  • Representing the station at on-site promotions, live remotes, and community events
  • Setting up, operating, and breaking down audio and promotional equipment
  • Recording live events through photos, video, audio, and social content for station promotions
  • Transporting and handling promotional materials and event equipment

What You'll Bring:
  • Strong desire to learn, grow, and build a career in media
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment
  • Comfort multitasking and taking on responsibilities beyond a single job function
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and varying shifts based on business needs
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Willingness to take ownership of tasks from start to finish
  • High School Diploma (required); college coursework or BA/BS degree (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and vehicle (required)

What's In It for You?
This role offers hands-on experience and a path to growth within Townsquare:
  • Real-world experience in radio, digital media, and live events
  • Training alongside experienced broadcast and operations professionals
  • Opportunities to build skills across multiple departments
  • A collaborative, fast-paced, and supportive team environment
  • Flexible, part-time scheduling
  • A foot-in-the-door opportunity with a leading multi-media organization
