Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Structural Engineer in Canonsburg, PA. The Structural Engineer III leads the structural design and analysis for seismic bracing, anchorage of MEP systems, and modular prefabricated assemblies. As the first structural engineer within the organization, the ideal candidate will work independently to provide safe, code-compliant, and fabrication-ready solutions for large-scale, high-profile construction projects.

Job Type: Permanent

Annual Salary: $110,000 to $160,000 Annually BOE

Licenses/Certifications Required:

  • Professional Engineering (PE) certification

Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural design, analysis, and detailing for seismic bracing and anchorage of electrical and MEP systems.
  • Develop engineering solutions for construction means-and-methods supports and prefabricated modular assemblies.
  • Design structural components for skids, racks, equipment frames, and modular electrical room (E-House) components.
  • Partner with prefabrication and modular construction teams to deliver code-compliant, fabrication-ready solutions.
  • Utilize Revit and associated plug-ins to create high-quality structural models and technical drawings.
  • Review and manage project documentation using Bluebeam Revu and Plan Grid software.
  • Perform complex structural calculations to ensure all designs meet safety standards and minimize project risk.
  • Lead the design role independently, establishing structural engineering standards for the organization.
  • Collaborate with project management and field leadership to accelerate installation through engineered solutions.
  • Conduct engineering support for various construction phases to ensure adherence to standard accepted practices.

Qualifications:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the construction industry preferred.
  • Experience with structural design for Data Center projects preferred.
  • Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university preferred.
  • Expert computer proficiency including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
  • Proven ability to meet strict project deadlines while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
  • Strong independent work ethic with the ability to carry out assignments from instructions to completion.
  • Willingness to travel to out-of-state jobsites and participate in occasional overnight trips.
  • Authorization to work in the United States and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform job functions in both office and active construction job site settings.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to move about offices or jobsites as needed to perform essential duties.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and technology, including computers and phones.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through electronic means.
  • Ability to occasionally position self to access materials, equipment, or work areas.
