Position Overview
Join the Mt. Hood Meadows Public Safety team and help keep one of Oregon's premier mountain destinations safe, secure, and operational through the night. As an Overnight Caretaker, you'll play an essential role in protecting our guests, employees, facilities, and equipment while ensuring the resort is prepared for another day on the mountain. This entry-level position offers a unique blend of security, patrol, and emergency response responsibilities in an unforgettable alpine setting.
Working independently throughout the resort, you'll conduct routine patrols, secure buildings, monitor surveillance and alarm systems, respond to safety concerns, and document incidents and operational issues. From checking doors and completing nightly building procedures to assisting with emergencies and maintaining a visible security presence, your attention to detail and commitment to safety will help create a secure environment for everyone at Mt. Hood Meadows.
We're looking for dependable, self-motivated individuals who thrive in independent roles and remain calm under pressure. The ideal candidate brings integrity, strong communication skills, and a keen sense of awareness, along with the ability to adapt to changing conditions in a dynamic mountain environment. Whether you're interested in building experience in public safety, security, emergency services, or simply enjoy working nights in the outdoors, this is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team at one of the Pacific Northwest's premier resorts.
This is a full-time, year-round position
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum Age 19 for company insurance purposes
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to be insured to operate company vehicles
  • Working knowledge of basic math, English grammar, writing and spelling for completion of required documentation
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision; dependable
  • Basic computer knowledge, preferably with Microsoft Office Suite
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal business
  • Must be able to commit to working overnights

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • DPSST Certification
  • Prior experience in the security field

Compensation:
  • Starting Wage: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
