What does an overnight sitting down security guard do?

An overnight sitting down security guard monitors and patrols a designated area during nighttime hours, often from a seated position, to prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access. They typically observe security cameras, check for hazards, and report incidents, requiring vigilance and sometimes basic security certifications. The role involves working overnight shifts in various environments such as commercial buildings, warehouses, or residential complexes.

How to get into overnight sitting down security?

To become an overnight sitting down security guard, you typically need a high school diploma or equivalent, and some positions may require security training or certification such as a guard card. Relevant skills include observation, communication, and report writing, and familiarity with security tools like surveillance systems can be beneficial. Applying through security companies or job boards and meeting any state-specific licensing requirements are common steps.
