Job Description – Overnight Security Supervisor (3rd Shift)

Unitus Security, Georgia's Premier Security Guard Service for Class A Commercial and Mixed-Use Properties, is seeking Overnight Security Supervisors who demonstrate leadership, accountability, urgency, and a service mindset that consistently exceeds client expectations.

Our Overnight Supervisors are critical to maintaining operational control, officer accountability, and client confidence during non-business hours. This role requires a leader who can operate independently, enforce standards consistently, and ensure the property is secure, compliant, and professionally represented at all times.

Role Expectations amp; Leadership Accountability (Overnight Focus)

All Unitus Supervisors are expected to operate in strict alignment with client-specific post orders, company policies, and operational standards.

Overnight Supervisors are responsible for:

  • Maintaining full operational oversight of the property during overnight hours
  • Ensuring all officers remain awake, alert, in proper uniform, and actively engaged
  • Conducting routine patrols, inspections, and post checks to verify performance and compliance
  • Providing real-time coaching, direction, and corrective action when standards are not met
  • Making independent decisions in the absence of on-site leadership
  • Escalating incidents appropriately and maintaining clear communication with leadership and clients

This role requires strict enforcement of all policies, including attendance, uniform compliance, and post order execution.

Failure to enforce standards, document issues, or uphold expectations may result in corrective action up to and including separation.


Non-Negotiables (Overnight Supervisor Standards)

This position requires strict adherence to the following:

  • Overnight Reliability: Consistent, dependable attendance for overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays. No pattern of late arrivals, call-outs, or attendance issues.
  • Alertness amp; Engagement: Ability to remain fully awake, aware, and actively engaged for the entire shift. Passive presence is not acceptable.
  • Accountability Enforcement: Willingness and ability to hold officers accountable in real time, including addressing uniform violations, performance gaps, and policy non-compliance without delay.
  • Leadership Presence: Maintain a visible, active leadership role throughout the property—this is not a stationary or passive position.
  • Policy Adherence: Strict compliance with all company policies, post orders, and client expectations at all times, without exception.

These standards are essential to the role and are not optional.


Requirements
  • Proven ability to lead teams in a low-supervision, overnight environment
  • Ability to remain alert, engaged, and accountable for the entire shift
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to hold officers accountable in real time
  • Ability to build trust with officers, property management, and clients
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing
  • Ability to patrol the property, including extended walking, standing, and stair use

Additional Requirements
  • Must be available for overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Must pass a drug screen
  • Must have a clear criminal record
  • Must comply with all uniform, grooming, and appearance standards as a condition of employment
  • Must adhere to attendance and call-out policies, including proper notification procedures

Supervisor Duties
  • Lead and manage overnight security operations across the property
  • Conduct post inspections and officer check-ins to ensure compliance and performance
  • Enforce all property rules, company policies, and client directives
  • Address performance concerns through coaching and documented corrective action
  • Ensure all incidents are properly reported and escalated
  • Maintain a visible leadership presence throughout the shift
  • Coordinate with law enforcement and property management when necessary
  • Ensure all post orders are executed with consistency and attention to detail

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Minimum 3 years of security experience (Required)
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience (Required)
  • Prior overnight or third-shift leadership experience (Preferred)
  • Hospitality or customer service experience (Preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license (Preferred)
